HIGH DEFINITION
it's
a quartet consists of young, ambitious musicians,
open to either main stream jazz or classical and
avant - garde music. All of them are studying at
the Music Academy in Krakow - they are active
musicians giving concerts all over Europe. In
the 2011/2012, High Definition has won 3
prestigious international competitions - Krokus
Jazz, NationalReviewof Jazz and Blues Bands and
Jazz Hoeilaart. In January 2012 High Definition
was considered as no.1 of Jazz Top in Debut
Category by Jazzarium.pl. The quartet members
have been awarded several times, among others:
Jazz nad Odrą (Wroclaw), Jazz Juniors (Krakow),
Krokus Jazz (Jelenia Gora), Novum Jazz (Lomza),
Blues nad Bobrem (Boleslawiec), RCK pro JAZZ
(Kolobrzeg), Jazz Hoeilaart (Belgium) or Montreux
Jazz Festival (Switzerland). Piotr Orzechowski, a
pianist, is a winnerofMontreux Jazz Piano
Competition 2011. High Definition is creating
its own, original compositions from the
borderlands of jazz and contemporary music as well
as performing new arrangements of the jazz
standards and works by the composers of the
classical music.
